Open a window, and it’s easy to find out what the weather is like right now. But knowing what the weather is expected to be like next week—or somewhere you’re planning to travel—requires a little more effort.

Fortunately, there’s an app for that—many apps, in fact. Let us help guide you to some of the best free weather apps available for Android and iOS, so you’ll always be able to get an accurate forecast right from your smartphone.

The Weather Channel has been a widely trusted  source for meteorological knowledge for over three decades, and now you can access it on your phone. Featuring a 15-day weather forecast that’s updated hourly, live radar, and even alerts and allergy advisories, you’ll always know what to expect.

Drawing from 250,000-plus weather stations, Weather Underground compiles in-depth reports on up-to-the-minute weather conditions. Users get up to a 10-day forecast, complete with a text summary. Its radar map draws from all of the weather stations in your neighborhood, and even gives you access to National Weather Service radio.

When you open AccuWeather, you’ll see a snapshot of the day’s weather, in terms of current conditions, the “RealFeel” temperature in the sun or shade, the UV index and the wind speed, as well as a look ahead to the next day. You also have the option to select if you want the app to tell you to bring a jacket or umbrella!

If you like to get your weather news with a splash of fun, try Carrot Weather. In addition to providing accurate, in-depth forecasts, you’ll enjoy additional lighthearted surprises like a humorous welcome message, clever artwork and even a built-in geography game you can play.

iPhone users don’t even need to download an extra app to check the weather, thanks to the weather app that comes pre-loaded on the device. You can check local conditions, view the hourly forecast and even add additional locations to monitor without any extra downloading. There are literally hundreds of weather apps out there, so you never have to be left guessing whether there’s rainy skies or sunshine ahead. But with these recommendations, you also won’t be left guessing if you’re getting your forecast from a good one!

Had a couple questions in the past and got the perfect answers . Had a rough start with the new phone but with the help of the young man at TARGET Manhattan Kansas ,had it straightened out in 20 minutes . Twenty minutes because he had to explain a couple things twice . I’m not new tech savvy .
