Tuesday Tip: How to download a Map for offline use

Google Maps is an extremely helpful app, but what happens when you’re camping in a remote location where there’s no service or you want to conserve data?

Did you know you can save a Google map of your destination before you depart so you can view it offline later?

Here’s how:

  1. Download and open the Google Maps app.
  2. Find the area/location you’ll be traveling to.
  3. Click the three dots in the lower-right of the screen.
  4. Select “Make available offline.”

The next time you’re heading off the grid or exploring a new place, save a map to your smartphone so you can quickly and easily familiarize yourself with the new area.

I purchased the Moto G EXT November 3rd. This phone has all the features of the high priced cell phones. I love the 2 way camera and the easy app. I get the high quality for an unbeatable price. I am extremely satisfied. I have passed this message to all my friends. Thank You `Consumer Cellular` for this affordable option.
