The Joy of Meeting Customers

For those of us from Consumer Cellular who attended Life@50+, AARP’s National Event and Expo in Los Angeles recently, our collective heads are still spinning.

In fact, about the only thing that’s no longer spinning is our popular Prize Wheel. At times, our booth featured the longest lines in the exhibition hall, with people waiting to spin our wheel for their shot at winning our big cash prizes.

Of course, while at our booth customers also had a chance to talk with us about our phones, cellular plans, and service. And many of them did. They told us what they liked and what they’d like to see. They even got a chance to shake hands with Doro-Man, a friendly mascot depiction of the senior friendly Doro cell phone—or, as I like to describe him, a superhero with big buttons.

Best of all, we had a chance to meet many of our customers, face to face, which is always the greatest takeaway we enjoy from AARP’s amazing annual event. Tens of thousands attended the event although, the crush of enthusiastic people made it seem like more. If you’re interested, we posted pictures from the show on Facebook.

As one of the founders of Consumer Cellular, I was elated. A constant flow of customers stopped by our booth to tell us how great we are and how much they love our service. More than one customer called our employees the “friendliest” and “smartest” people they’ve ever dealt with—and I would agree. Hearing all these positive statements served to validate our vision and reinforce our commitment to be the best.

Next year, Life@50+ will be in one of America’s true urban gems, New Orleans, a dynamic city full of music, history, and some of the best dining this side of the Food Network channel. We hope you’ll join us in 2012 in the Big Easy. And if you’re there, don’t forget to take a spin by our booth.
