  1. Christine says

    Is it 5G?

  2. Chris Vince says

Any plans of Consumer Cellular going to 5G?

    • Hi Chris, thanks for your question. We are currently going through some updates to our network, our T-Mobile network has some areas where 5G is available, but our AT&T is still going through those updates. We don’t have a time frame for when those will be done and will continue to update our customers as soon as we have them.

  3. Cheryl Hovey says

I want to check out signing up for 1 person unlimited

    • Hi Cheryl, thanks for your interest! We’d be happy to answer any questions that you have regarding our service. Our Unlimited Plan is $60 a month plus tax. If you have any questions or concerns, just give us a call at 800-686-4460 or chat with one of our agents here.

    Re: A21
No, the least expensive 5G phone offered here is $800. It’s 4G.

    • Nicole at Consumer Cellular says

Hi Faith, the least expensive 5G phone that we currently have available is the Samsung Galaxy S20FE, found here. The regular price is $700, but it’s available for $550 until 3/31/2021.

  5. Frank Smith Jr says

Do you have the note 20 ultra?

    • Nicole at Consumer Cellular says

Hi Frank, that model can be found here, but it is not currently in stock. When it’s back in stock, that page will be updated immediately.

  6. Grace says

What is the difference between what we have now and 5g?

    • Nicole at Consumer Cellular says

The main difference is the speed, Grace. 5G is up to 10 to 100 times faster than 4G service currently in use. You can find more information about 5G in our other post here.

  7. Thomas Fransiscus says

Will my Samsung galaxy if work when 5g happens

    • Nicole at Consumer Cellular says

Hi Thomas, your Samsung Galaxy phones will continue to work with the network changes.

  8. Ralph Estrella says

    Hi,
i was told i have to get a new phone because mine is too old?
    Is this true?

    • Nicole at Consumer Cellular says

Hi Ralph, our records show that they both are 3G devices, so we do recommend upgrading so that your service continues to work. All of the devices available on our website will work with the network changes.

  9. Margaret says

Do you have flip phones? – or is one limited to a smartphone?

  10. Arlou Lorenzen says

I DO NOT WANT TO GET NEW PHONES. I WANT TO DOWNLOAD YOUR SERVICES ON THE ANDROID PHONES WE ALREADY HAVE. ALSO I MUST HAVE HOTSPOT ON MY PHONE, TO GET ON THE INTERNET, ALSO I WANT TO KEEP THE PHONE NUMBERS WE ALREADY HAVE. I AM WITH AT@T, AND THEY ARE BILLING AN OUT RAGIOUS AMOUNT FOR 3 LINES. CAN YOU DO ANY OF THE ABOVE ? THANK YOU

    • Hi Arlou, thanks for your interest! If you have an Android that is unlocked from the carrier, is GSM-compatible, and VoLTE capable, it may work on our network. We can’t guarantee compatibility for all models, but we’ll do all that we can to see if we can get it connected for you. You can use our data plan to connect to the hotspot feature we offer on that device.

As long as the number remains active with the current provider during the transfer process, you can switch it over. We will also need the current account number, PIN number if there is one, billing address, and the account holder’s first and last name to submit to your current provider so that they will release the number to us so we would recommend having a bill readily available for this process.

  11. Mary says

Hi can you please tell me if all the cell phones that you sell come factory unlocked?

    • Nicole at Consumer Cellular says

Thank you for the question, Mary. Our phones are locked to our service automatically, but they can be unlocked after 180 days of active service.

  12. Sandra Pyle says

If we buy phones from you online do they come ready to use or do we have to take them to target to get activated?

    • Nicole at Consumer Cellular says

The phones won’t come already active, but you won’t need to visit Target to get them activated. Instructions are included on getting the phones activated on our website, by calling us, or chatting.

  13. Delores says

How much data do your phones have?
    Thank you.

  14. Anna Marie Yarger says

Since all the 5G phones that you have available are over $500, can you provide us suggestions of unlocked phones that meet your criteria for using your network that are under $500? At 76, I don’t want to put over that amount into a phone that I use occasionally, when I can get a laptop for essentially the same price. Your customer service rep gave me the criteria for an unlocked phone; but it’s next to impossible to find the criteria when you look for a phone.

    • Hi Anna, we appreciate you reaching out with your concerns. You don’t need a 5G phone to continue to use our network. To keep using the phone, it would need to be VoLTE capable and any of our phones listed on our website are capable of that. We don’t have a list of compatible devices, but if you find a phone that is unlocked from all other providers, is GSM-compatible, and VoLTE capable, it may work on our network. We can’t guarantee compatibility for all models, but we’ll do all we can to see if we can get it connected for you.

  15. Timothy Slocum says

Any chance that we will see the new Samsung Galaxy A32 5g or the new Samsung Galaxy A22 5g phones on Consumer Cellular?

    • Hi Timothy, thanks for your post! We have not heard if we will be getting either of those devices, if this changes though, they will be posted to our website so I’d recommend checking back on the website for any updates.

  16. melanie says

Is the Galaxy A21 still available?

    • Hi Melanie, thanks for your question! At this time we don’t know if or when we’ll be getting that phone back in stock since we’re waiting on the manufacturer to send us more. If we do get more in, it’ll be listed on our website first so we recommend checking back there frequently.

  17. Michael Pahl says

Why is this A12 the only Samsung phone available from Consumer Cellular and it is not even 5G? There has always been several Samsung phones to pick from before. What’s the deal????
