Independent Survey Ranks Consumer Cellular as Best Value

This month, we’re humbled once again by a great compliment from our terrific, loyal customers. Market Force Information, a nationwide customer experience research firm, polled more than 8,600 consumers across the country to determine the best wireless cellphone carrier. The results were clear—with a score of 70%, Consumer Cellular was ranked number one – and by a big margin.

Overall, our 70% composite loyalty index was 10 points higher than the next best score—and almost double the score for the top rated full-service wireless carrier, who earned just 38.4%. Carriers were ranked across multiple categories to determine how happy customers are with their current service, and if they felt loyal to their current carrier. Consumer Cellular came out on top for best value, best coverage, fewest dropped calls, easiest to change plan, and best flexibility, among others.

The Market Force survey is just the latest entry on a growing list of those recognizing the quality and value of our service. Nielsen Mobile Insights once again identified us as having the “highest overall satisfaction of all mobile carriers” earlier this year. Consumer Reports puts us at the top of their consumer satisfaction survey of nearly 90,000 subscribers year after year. And PC Magazine has ranked us “The Best of the Best” in their Readers Choice awards survey for the past few years.

While the recognition is truly great, it confirms what we already know—we provide the best value because we put you—our customers, in control. With flexible plans at affordable rates, plus the ability to change plans at any time, you create the affordable cellphone plan that best suits your lifestyle and pocketbook. Backed by our 100% U.S. based customer support and reliable nationwide coverage, it’s a pretty unbeatable combination.

Thank you to everyone who had such kind words for Consumer Cellular. We truly appreciate it. But be assured, we won’t rest on our laurels. Going forward, we pledge to work even harder to continue bringing you the quality, value, and dependability you’ve come to expect from us.

I saw one of your ads on TV that said you give a discount for AARP members. How do I get this – I have been an AARP member for years but never told you guys. Please advise what I need to do. Thanx

    • Ashley at Consumer Cellular says

That’s great to hear, Gus. You can start saving 5% each month as an AARP member. All we need is your AARP member number to get started. You can call us at 888-345-5509 to add this information to your account, and that’s it. Thank you for posting, and we look forward to speaking with you!

Your representatives are the best! This is the best phone company I have ever worked with. I am wondering when you will have internet service. We live in the country and don’t have any good options. Your company, I am sure, would be much better than anything we now have available. Thanks for your great service!

    • Ashley at Consumer Cellular says

We appreciate your compliment, Cynthia! At this time, we don’t have plans to offer internet service, but if that should change, we will be happy to let our customers know. If you are looking for a simple internet option for when you are on the go, we do offer a hotspot, which you can see here. It’s just an additional $10 a month to add it to your plan. I’ve passed your kind words on to our customer service department, and we very much appreciate you as a customer. Thank you for your comment, and we hope you have a great day!

  4. Randall Wade says

I’ve been a C Cellular customer for less than one year and very pleased and satisfied. My years with ATT was littered with changes in service, pricing and over all confusion. The ability to contact a customer service person with any issue at any time is unique in this crowded market. Thanks C Cellular!!

    • Ashley at Consumer Cellular says

That’s great to hear, Randall! We’re glad you are enjoying your time with us, and we very much appreciate you as a customer. We hope you have a great day!

  5. Eric says

How much would it be to get a hotspot to use with my tablet?

    • Ashley at Consumer Cellular says

Great question, Eric! We do offer a hotspot device, which is great for connecting tablets, laptops and other devices to the internet. You can get one here on our site, or we can help you order one over the phone at 888-345-5509. It is $80, and you can add it to your current plan for $10 a month. Best of all, the hotspot and your phone will share the same Connect plan. We’re happy to answer any other questions you may have over the phone whenever you like. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us, and we hope you have a good day!

  6. L.V. says

I was a customer of T-mobile, ATT&T, and some other (don’t remember the name), Since 2011 I switched to CC. What can I say. By far the best, and much less expensive! My only wish is the separation of text and data, considering the age of most CC customers, which is above average of cellphone users. We don’t have the ability to text with speed and efficiency that youth have.
I hope it will happen still in my lifetime.

For all the rest service – thank you! 🙂

    • Ashley at Consumer Cellular says

We’re glad to hear that our service is a good fit for you, L.V.! Thank you for the suggestion regarding our plans, which I have passed on to our management team. If we announce any changes to our plans, we will be sure to let you know here on the blog and through our other social media channels. Thank you for the great recommendation for our service, and for taking the time to post today!

  7. Robert Arnold says

No doubt, it’s the service that puts CC over the top. The cost of service is great (although I wish the next time they’d increase the data a little instead of texts), but it’s still the great service that wins me over.

    • Ashley at Consumer Cellular says

Thank you so much, Robert! We really appreciate the compliment. I’ve passed your feedback regarding more data on to our management team, so thank you for the suggestion. Thank you for posting, and for your very kind words!

  8. Bill Glover says

Consumer Cellular is the only company that it is a REAL pleasure to work with!!! Love you service, your customer reps, and the ease of use and understanding. I truly don’t mind paying my bill as you strive to give more service for less cost. Thank you for all you do, especially for AARP members. We need all the help we can get!

    • Ashley at Consumer Cellular says

What a wonderful thing to say, Bill! Thank you so much for your kind words, and for taking the time to share them with us here. It’s our pleasure to provide you with service, and we hope you have a great day!

  9. knut says

We are not having a great experience so far. Neither of our phones would activate online, and we have been on hold for tech support for over 20 minutes so far. Reminds us too much of at&t.

    • Ashley at Consumer Cellular says

We do apologize for the inconvenience, Knut. We’re happy to welcome you to Consumer Cellular, and I’m sorry to hear that our first impression was lacking. I took a look at your account, and I see that Carla was able to help you with your order. If we can help you with anything else, please don’t hesitate to let us know at 888-345-5509, or at [email protected]. Thank you for the feedback, and we hope you have a great day!

  10. Jerry says

Value sure but when I cant get pokemon go from a build number that cant update AT ALL (THAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD WILL NEVER UPDATE) it gets hard to justify keeping a phone that you love when you need the apps that require a higher android version than your phone will ever get

    • Ashley at Consumer Cellular says

We’re sorry to hear that you aren’t able to download the app you would like to your phone, Jerry. Unfortunately, software updates are released by the manufacturer, so we don’t always have insight into the timeline for availability. We’re happy to talk with you about this more if you give us a call. We’ll be ready to assist you at 888-345-5509. Thank you for posting, and we hope you have a great day!

  11. Joel Pfeil says

CC is really great. In the metro-Atlanta area, service is super. Will be interested to see how good it is as I travel down to Miami next month. T-Mobile always had zero cell service heading down there, so I’ll give it the real test as we head South.

    • Ashley at Consumer Cellular says

We’re glad to hear that you are enjoying your service, Joel. Keep us posted on your travels, and if we can assist you with anything, please don’t hesitate to call us at 888-345-5509. Thank you for posting!

  12. Mary Whitt says

Great customer service. The problem I’m having is dropped calls and no service messages. When driving home I have a long drive from work. I like calling family but I hit a dead zone where it just hangs up on the person I’m talking to. What can I do to prevent this?

    • Hi Mary, thanks for your question. We can’t guarantee service in all locations, mentioned in our terms of service, it could be that this area does not have a tower nearby and the phone loses that connection until it can get closer to a tower and can reconnect to the network. You can try powering the phone off and back on to see if that helps to refresh the connection between the phone and towers, otherwise, you can also give us a call at 800-686-4460 or chat with one of our agents here and we can take a look to see if that is just an area that doesn’t have that connection available.
