Don’t Like Ringtones or Vibrate Mode? Try Flash Alerts for iPhone

Did you know there’s an alternative to ringtones or vibrate mode for receiving notifications for emails or texts? You can enable the LED light (the same light used for the camera flash and flashlight) on your iPhone to signal you to an incoming call, text message, or email.

Set up is easy:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap “General.”
  3. Tap “Accessibility.”
  4. Under “Hearing,” enable “LED Flash for Alerts.”

That’s it! Your iPhone’s LED flash will light up every time you receive a notification alert. Android users, click here to read last week’s blog to see how to do the same!

That is really a great item for the phone. Sometimes you can’t feel the vibration when phone is silenced. Thanks

I experienced being next to someone who had this feature on his phone. The light flash was near blinding! It was VERY annoying, and I can imagine it being dangerous if used in a vehicle at night, One call and there goes your night vision!
