In an emergency, who do you want first responders to call? That’s the question I.C.E. (In Case of Emergency) numbers stored in your cell phone can answer. First responders or ER professionals will use your I.C.E. numbers to contact your closest relatives or friends. Your I.C.E. contacts can immediately inform emergency personnel about any medications or allergies you might have or help locate your own doctor. Adding I.C.E. numbers to your phone is not just a smart thing to do, it could save your life. It’s easy to do and only takes seconds. I like it . It's very important. Thanks.
It's a good tip. Thank you.

Very good suggestion. You did not address one possible problem. It might be reasonable to expect a first responder to know how to unlock the various smart phones in order to dial an emergency number, 911, but does not give access to a contacts list. Is the only solution to forgo phone security?
You're right, Stephen. That would definitely be an obstacle. If you have your phone locked, others won't be able to access your contacts list. Thanks for pointing that out.
There is a problem if you have a locked phone…they can't access your numbers. And anyone with smart phones needs to lock their phone for security.
could cell phone vendors be persuaded to add a way to get past locking for access to ICE numbers only; after all its all software.
Nice to know. Will do it right away. I love Consumer Cellular.
Thanks…very helpful!
cant use smart phone because its locked
Thanks for posting, David. If your phone is locked, you’ll want to check with the original carrier and see if they are able to unlock it for you. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to do that for you unless it is a phone that we sold. If you have any other questions about using your smartphone with our service, we’re happy to answer them at 888-345-5509. We appreciate you posting, and we hope you have a great day!
Can you call 911 on these phones.
Hi Alan, you can call 911 from a cell phonon our service.
