Any new line of service counts. Signing up for the first time?  You’ll save $20. Current customers can add a line for a family member—and get the same $20 credit. By adding a line, you’ll enjoy free calls between all phones on the same account. And it’s just an additional $10 per month, per line, to add family members to your cellular plan.

Your $20 credit counts toward activating a new line of service that you add to your account. If you’re purchasing or upgrading to a new phone, you can choose from any of our Android smartphones or iPhone models, our flip phones or use one you already have with our free SIM card option.  Or you can add a line with our Wireless Home Phone Base, Mobile Hotspot, or Consumer Cellular Ally.

There are no special codes or coupons required. For new customers, the $20 credit will appear on the next invoice after activation. If you’re already a customer, you’ll find the $20 credit on your next invoice after adding the new line. And here’s another tip—this is a great time to recommend a friend to Consumer Cellular. They can take advantage of the $20 savings, plus you’ll both receive our refer-a-friend credit, too!

You will need to act fast. The $20 credit is only for lines activated between June 1st‑June 30th, 2016.     What if I am undecided about using old phone or getting a new one could I get a new one after I sign up at a later date for same deal?

    Hey I want to add both of my teenagers to my existing plan but they need a sim card. Also will it work? They have ZTE Phone from straight talk.

You can pick up a SIM card from your local Target or Sears store, or here on our website. In most cases, an unlocked GSM device will work quite well with our SIM cards, but we can’t guarantee that the phones you currently have will be compatible without giving it a try.     Our ATT service ends August 7,2016 and wish to sign on with you with our ATT phones. I have been with you before my wife hasn’t. She wants to keep her phone but I want to go back to flip-phone with you and I would like to get that $20 discount. She could sign on after 08-07-16 for $ 9.50 couldn’t she??…Am I making sense? You are half of what we have paid at ATT for two yrs. THANKS

There is another option, our pay-per-minute plan which is $10 a month, then $0.25 per minute used. If you don’t think you’ll be making many calls, that may be a better option for you.     I have Verizon smart phones for myself and my daughter. Our contract doesn’t end until Sept 23. When it ends – if I were to purchase SIM cards now would this service work with our Verizon phones? I also have AARP – would I be able to use my discount in September for myself and my daughter?

The best way to know for sure if the phones you have will work with our service is to try our SIM card. We would recommend that you wait until your contract is up to purchase and activate your SIM card. That way you can keep your phone number, and the process will be quite simple.     I am curious how text messaging works. One message is showing up as multiple messages on my usage when I log on to check it on your website. If you have one long text message, does that count as several messages? Do you count the number lines of text?

In general, a single text message is 144 characters. If you think your usage is showing incorrectly, we’re happy to review it with you over the phone.     My phone has no network for 6/24/16. What is going on?

Your phone will then be able to reconnect to the nearest tower.     Me and my husband are wanting to change carriers to Consumer Cellular and we are buying new phones as well but we want our contacts from our old phones added to our new phones. How can/does that happen when signing up with consumer cellular?

If you’re using an iPhone, you can back up your contacts by using iCloud. For an Android device, you can save your contacts to your Google account. You can also export with your previous SIM card or via Bluetooth as well.
