New and Improved Cell Phone Plans

I’m pleased to announce, effective immediately, we’re changing our cell phone plans and rolling out new, enhanced rates. Again.

Again? Yes, we’ve improved our plans NINE times in recent years! And with each enhancement our customers received more free minutes, more free text messages and more free data than they had before. Amazingly enough, while making all these changes we’ve never raised our rates.

While other companies have been raising rates or shocking their customers with high overage fees, we chose to follow a different path.  Instead of charging more, we thought it made more sense to give you more. To meet your increasing cell phone needs, we’ve made our cell phone plans more robust. Depending on which plan you selected, you will receive a free usage increase of anywhere from 20% to 100%.NewRate_Icon_Final

As a Consumer Cellular customer, you are allowed to change your plan, without penalty. You may increase or decrease minutes, texts or data on your plan at any time, thus avoiding unexpected overage charges. Please see the charts below for specific changes.

Best of all, even though we enhanced our cell phone plans multiple times over the years, we didn’t raise our prices. Plus, you don’t need to do anything to receive the benefits of these new plans. We’ll automatically upgrade your account for you.

I’d like to mention one more key benefit of this change.  I believe our new, enhanced rates make it more practical than ever to share your cellular plan with other family members, especially since you’ll have more usage to share. You can add loved ones to your account through our family cell phone plans and leverage the extra minutes, messages and data to your family’s advantage. The real beauty is adding a line is inexpensive and only costs $10 per month per line added.

Remember, with our new rates you get more of what you’re already getting and you don’t have to pay extra for it. Some might call that a sweet deal. We call it looking out for our customers.

          You can buy phones on ebaY or swappa
          Both of which have good buyer protection
          Consumer will send you a sim card

    Yeah! I just got a 4G so I can check my work website for customers. I have been worried that my current plan wouldn’t support these needs. I never used the web on my old phone. Thank you! I considered moving to a different cellular provider once I realized I was going to have to use the web at work but decided to take a chance and stay with Consumer Cellular. This report is great news! Thank you again I won’t have to worry now about having to change Providers.

    I have only been with Consumer Cellular for a few months now and I can’t say enough about them.
    The customer service porting our numbers was excellent. When we had questions about use of our new phone they walked us thru the process to fix our problem and now this getting more for your money, they can’t be beat.       I agree with you completely! Even an increase to 250 minutes would be wonderful :). It doesn’t happen frequently, but enough times where I’ve had to upgrade to 500 minutes at a much higher rate than I need. Other than that, I LOVE Consumer Cellular! No one can beat their Customer Service.

    Just as I was expecting to go over my 500 minutes plan an unexpected email alert arrived that I was over the by 83% and I was safely within the 600 minutes of my plan, Shocked and surprised this was the best news I have received and made me happy all day! Thank you C.C. this extra time gave my wife the perfect cushion for our phone needs. The double texts were a big wow another unexpected bonus. We are so happy we switched from our former carrier to C.C.

    Finally, a company that delivers what they promise and more. I was skeptical when I first signed up but I have found them to be the best cell provider I have ever dealt with. I was paying over twice as much and getting less with my old provider. It is a pleasure to speak to customer service people and they are very helpful. I am so happy I signed up with them. Just recently they increased the minutes/texts/data on all plans and the price didn’t go up. It doesn’t get much better than that. I usually don’t send comments but in this case I think Consumer Cellular deserves a high five.

I am SOOOOOO glad I changed service and it was so easy to replace my phone which by the way I’m really liking ~ much easier to transition to a smart phone than the dumb phone I was using!!!     I love Consumer Cellular, we were with a big name carrier for years but when they did “upgrades” to their system and didn’t send out bills for three months. then when they did it was astronomical, I started looking around for another carrier. I am so glad I found Consumer Cellular. I believe it is the best thing I have ever done by switching. The people are so nice and you truly only have to pay for what you need.     I would love to see consumer cellular introduce international phone service. My wife and I are retired and love to travel. The minute we leave the USA are phone service is no longer operational. Emergency calls or just keeping in touch at any time to family is impossible.

    I do not understand why you folks do not offer an “unlimited everything” plan.
    it makes no sense to have to pay for two separate plans voice and data, text and web. etc.
    price changes are great, but you folks really should think about employing “unlimited”
    plans of some sort. i was looking into becoming an AARP member customer
    but i cannot see having to pay more for less here. i currently pay $40.00 per month on a 3G
    plan for unlimited everything, talk, text, web. and i am soon going to upgrade to 4GLTE
    once i decide who to go with. just food for thought folks…

    I am very disappointed why? Ok great service but no free minutes. So I am now asking myself what was the point of going with CC? Well I needed a service that supports GSM so I can talk and surf simultaneously. I did not want to go with T-Mobile or ATT. Now I have a phone that is locked and will not work on Straight talk which is cheaper. Why would one go with CC when you can go with a provider that offers a substantially better deal? I dont want to worry about minutes or going over my minutes. Now I am thinking about it because I am just at the point where I am about to go over and I now Have to upgrade to a plan that offers more but again must pay more so where is the savings?

    I am using another MNVO. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired but they operate in 17 countries and their prices are far less then yours. Will you be offering a combination voice/text and data plan anytime in the future to compete with them?

    I’m a newer customer but am finding the 2.5MG of data is not enough for me. Everything else has been great but i had to up my data and am about out again. Granted i was leaving apps running in the background, so i fixed that and wasn’t using other wifi’s that were available but I constantly have to turn my data off for fear of overusing it. Other plans offer unlimited for the same price so although you are improving your plans, other plans do offer more. I dont’ want to switch plans but 2.5MG data is probably not going to work for me.

      Good question, Clarissa. If you exceed your data plan by a bit, you can pay $0.25 per MB of data used. To avoid that, you can sign up for our usage alerts, which will let you know when you reach 75%, 100% and 125% of your plan. You can do this through the My CC app or in My Account. And of course, you can change your plan at any time up to the last day of your billing cycle. Thanks again!

    The study found 17 months and 26 days is usually the point when a jilted wife or husband feels ready to move on.

    The opinion poll of 4,000 divorcees also found that while 43 per cent felt pleased when their Decree Nisi came through, 31 % were sad that it was over.
