Meet Our Grandparents Day Contest Winners

It is fitting that the official flower of National Grandparents Day is the forget-me-not because this year’s grand prize winning entry to our annual Grandparents Day Contest is unforgettable.

Bethany Strang of Oregon entered a charming and witty video titled “Him and Her.” Roles were played by cousins (aka the grandchildren) in a recreation of the fairy tale-like first meeting of their grandparents at a school dance. With interesting camera angles, whimsical narration, and background music, the video was not just entertaining but nicely executed as well. Spoiler alert: the man and woman portrayed in the video—Him and Her—go on to live happily ever after. Bravo to a talented family!

As our Grand Prize winner, Bethany won a seven night vacation package for four to Orlando, Florida. Our top prize, valued at up to $10,000, along with our category prizes, are courtesy of AARP® Travel Center provided by Expedia®.

This year’s contest attracted a lot of interest. With more than 650 entries submitted and 15,000 votes cast, picking our final list of winners was not easy.
