Live Inspired – Sharing Words of Support

When somebody feels inspired, it makes all the difference in the world. Our customers provide the spark that encourages us to do our best work every day. In their honor, we recently pledged $2 million to the Knight Cancer Foundation on behalf of each and every one of them. Cancer touches the lives of everyone, and we optimistically look forward to the day when we stop it in its tracks. As a result of our pledge, we’ve met even more people who have inspired us as they work on the front lines of the battle against cancer.

With our pledge and others, the foundation met its fundraising goal. Naturally, this called for a celebration. This summer we’re launching our campaign, Live Inspired, to share that positive energy with our customers and everyone else.

So what does Live Inspired mean? And, how does it work? We’ve developed a special website where we’ve placed a series of inspiring images and quotes. Our hope is that people will find one of these images and messages that speaks to them. Then, they can share them with friends and family to encourage and inspire them.

From there, you can view 50 inspirational messages and choose one you find moving or uplifting. Please share that image on your Facebook, Google+ or Twitter page. For every 100 quotes shared, Consumer Cellular will surprise an inspiring person with a gift. This might be a nurse who works with cancer patients, a volunteer, a cancer survivor or anyone who inspires you and others.

Plus, you can nominate this special person via the website. And they don’t need to be a Consumer Cellular customer to qualify to get a gift either. It’s open to anyone! Then, spread the word, and together we’ll see how many people we can inspire! Please check out our Facebook page for updates. We’ll post more about how the gift recipients inspire us and how they enjoyed their gift.

    Just wanted to say thank y’all from Tenn. My wife is a 20 year survivor of breast cancer and its thanks to people like you that help stamp out this ugly sickness. God bless y’all and thanks for our good phone service . God bless y’all!

    My experience with Consumer Cellular is not a good one. While the service (phone usage) is good, the customer services is not. I’ve been trying to get a refund for a phone that has been returned to CC way before the dealine, but I got charged anyway I’m getting the run around as to why I’ve been charged for the phone when I should not have and each time I call, I’ve got to repeat the situation over again. This has become very frustrating and very CC is providing unprofessonal service.

    I read that $15.00 per month has been upgraded to 400 min. per month. Who qualifies for this? Only new customers?

    There’s no way I use 250 minutes a month.My phones works all the time because the battery in it goes down every day even when i’m not using it.If I take it into my computer room it works until I shut it off and you can hear it working because of the speakers but when I shut it off the speakers don’t do anything and the battery stays up.It sends data for what.

      We appreciate you taking the time to comment, Bruce. Your phone will only use minutes between the time of you answering a call or placing one, and when you press the end button. It’s important to press the end button once you’ve completed your call so that you don’t use any other minutes. A smartphone will stay on and accept text messages, update apps and perform other functions unless you turn it off. If the phone is off and connected to your computer via USB cable, you may see a battery appear on the screen. This is a sign that the phone is charging using the power from your computer.     I applaud you for giving back. Have you verified that the OHSU Knight Cancer Challenge is a humane charity? If not, there is a chance your gift may be used to grow tumors in caged animals instead of providing patient support or humane research such as computer models, genetics, tissue sample testing, clinical studies, etc.

    I am certain you have a personal relationship that inspired this gift. I urge you to direct the donation to the work you want to support, and specify that it not be used for animal testing.

    I am recovering from colon cancer, six months of chemotherapy and three surgeries last year. It was great to have my cellphone in the hospital to make long distance calls to keep my family informed. I don’t use my phone a lot but it is a comfort to have it. Is there an affordable smart phone available for me? I am on a tight budget with all the doctor bills. Thanks for your service!
