What is a family plan?

Family plans allow you to link many mobile contracts to one account. This means there’s just one bill to pay and one payment coming out of your bank account each month. These plans can also provide a discount when you sign up everyone in your family with a cellphone to the same account.

Benefits of using a family plan

  1. Are you the organized bill payer of your family? If yes, a family plan will allow you to have all your family member’s cellphone bills on one account. Meaning you are just paying one bill per month when it comes to cellphone service.
  2. Members of a family plan can usually call each other for free! There may be additional fees for text messages and data use.
  3. Most family flans will offer a discount for every additional line you add. You can include all your family members and even friends too!
  4. On top of being able to pay everything in one bill, you can also have your bill broken down into data used, calls made, calls received, and texts made and received per person on your family plan.

You can easily sign up for a family plan at Consumer Cellular! We make it simple to stay connected to your friends and family. For only $15.00 a month per line, you can add additional family members to your cellphone plan. This lets you share all the talk, text, and data used on your plans and enjoy free calls between phones on the same Consumer Cellular account. Great question, Lazaro. Unlimited Talk, Text, and Data for three lines is $90. International calling is also available, but the rates will vary depending on the country you’re calling or texting. You can check out our rates here.

Additionally, in order to use your own phones with our service, they will need to be VoLTE-capable, unlocked, and GSM-compatible phones. If you have the phone’s IMEI, you can check if it should be compatible here. Please keep in mind that we cannot guarantee compatibility for all phone models, but we will do all we can to get them working on our service.

What do the taxes and fees add up to for the three line unlimited plan? I am an AARP member so the three lines would be $ 85.50 per month plus taxes and fees. I live in Kentucky.

    • Nicole at Consumer Cellular says

Hi James, taxes will vary depending on your location, for that plan with three lines you could expect taxes to be around 30% of your plan.

It is Friday, 9:24am and your chatline is not open. WHY? It’s hard to call you when the cell is not working.
