    I have found that using the free Consumer Cellular App is the best and fastest way to order new phones and even SIM card for an ​iPhone given to us. Also, emails to [email protected] is very effective, albeit a bit slower.

    We don’t always have to speak to a person to accomplish our goals.

    I just got my Doro PhoneEasy 626 and had it setup today at Target. What makes me happy is what I am paying now $19.00 a mo. I was paying $51.00 a mo. I am trying to downsize. I want to retire (40 years at same place) this will help a lot! This whole switch over only took about 3 days. Can’t beat that.

    I have a Motorola Moto G4 and it works fine except that it does not receive text messages from phones using the T-Mobil service. It can send but can not receive. It works fine on my wife’s Samsung that is also connected using Consume Cellular. Should I return my phone?

    I had some issues with sending picture messages recently using my Fire phone from Amazon. Didn’t know why this feature stopped working. The techs at CC didn’t know why either. Then I changed the APN type to: default,mms,supl,hipri and then everything starts to work fine.
    Why the settings changed, who knows.

    Consumer Cellular is inefficient, and I write this because I posted a check to CC on February 14th, my bank statement shows that that check in the amount of $15.07 went thru on February 22th. I have repeatedly told the CC rep this, with no results except constant duns for a 2nd payment of 15.07, plus billing for $10.00 monthly, plus the 15.07 they say that I Still Owe them. It is patently obvious that Consumer Cellular’s people have screwed up on my account, and I will be sure and advise all my friends that they should not do business with such an ineffecient phone company. What do I need to do ? I will, if necessary get a notary public witness my bank statement, and send to CC and be forever DONE with this whole screwed-up mess.

    I am thinking about taking up your offer on The Samsung S8. Is it possible to get the S8+?? Is there assistance in helping me use this phone, we currently have The Doro 626 and we even have trouble with that! We are currently in Europe until Aug. 18, is it possible to order the S8/S8+ and NOT take delivery (by mail) until after Aug. 18? Don’t like to leave these phones laying around the front porch and/or post office for 1.5 months! Would love to order but don’t know if I/we can make it work without smashing it against the nearest brick wall. Please advise at your earliest convenience. Thank you in advance!

    Why can’t you just bill us for the amount of data we actually use each month? We travel intermittently and find ourselves having to be careful to switch back to the lower data plan when we return home where we have internet service.

    If I get the new Galaxy S8 how do I transfer everything from my old phone to new phone?

      Great question, James! There are a few different ways to go about it. If you’re already using an Android device, the switch will be pretty simple. You’ll want to save your contacts to your Google account, as well as sync any settings and photos. Then when you receive your new phone, you’ll start by logging into your existing Google account. That way, your apps, contacts and preferences will automatically switch over. You can also save your contacts to your SIM card, then transfer them that way.     I’m happy with my service on the first phone. Now waiting for second phone to work (Doro phone). Able to call out, but still cannot receive calls “in” with it. Waiting on an online help, I sent on it yesterday.

    I called CC today to ask when my S8 would get the new Android “Pie” version. The guy I talked to rather deftly avoided answering me, trying to get me to buy a whole new phone. In addition, he seemed determined to convince me that I needed to sign on for a Samsung account, again avoiding my original question. AARP recommends CC, but I do not. Cheap is great, yes, but they need to hire more, and much better, customer service people. I’m canceling my service after this experience.
