How to Print Pictures From Your Phone: iPhone & Android Made Easy

Smartphones (and pretty much all modern cellphones, even senior-friendly flip phones) don’t just take great pictures—they’ve replaced our old cameras for most everyday photo-worthy moments. And while it’s easy to keep your photos on your phone, sometimes you want the real deal: a printed copy you can hold, frame or share beyond the screen. Or, maybe your phone is running slow from storing too many pictures and it’s time to print some before saving them elsewhere.

Luckily, printing photos from your iPhone or Android is simple, whether you have a home printer or use an app to order prints.

Here’s a quick guide to help you print pictures right from your phone in 2025.

How to Print Photos From an iPhone

If you have an AirPrint-compatible printer, you can easily print photos wirelessly from your iPhone in just a few taps.

  1. Open the Photos app
  2. Select the picture you want to print
  3. Tap the Share icon (square with arrow pointing up)
  4. Scroll down and tap Print
  5. Choose your AirPrint-enabled printer
  6. Adjust the number of copies, paper size or other details if needed
  7. Tap Print in the top right corner

If you don’t have an AirPrint printer, you can still print by installing your printer’s app (like HP Smart, Canon PRINT or Epson iPrint) from the App Store.

How to Print Photos From an Android Phone

On Android, you can use Google Photos or your phone’s native print function to send pictures to a Wi-Fi-enabled printer.

  1. Open the Google Photos app or your phone’s Gallery app
  2. Select the photo you’d like to print
  3. Tap the More or Share icon (three dots or arrow)
  4. Choose Print
  5. Pick your Wi-Fi printer from the list
  6. Adjust settings (copies, paper size, orientation, etc.)
  7. Tap Print

If your printer doesn’t appear, you may need to install the manufacturer’s app (HP Smart, Canon PRINT, etc.) or enable the Mopria Print Service on your Android.

Popular Photo Printing Apps in 2025

Not everyone has a home printer. Fortunately, there are easy apps that let you order photo prints and have them shipped—or picked up locally. Here are three of the top photo printing apps based on consumer reviews across the web. All three are available on iPhone and Android.

Shutterfly

For years, Shutterfly has been a top digital destination to print photos, books, calendars and even gifts like puzzles or throw blankets.

Walgreens Photo

Need to pick up a prescription or that often-forgotten gallon of milk? You can do that and order prints directly from your phone and pick them up same day at your nearby Walgreens. Now that’s convenience.

Mpix

Known for high-quality prints and used by many photo pros, Mpix offers photo books, framed prints and fast delivery.

tried it and this does not work i have an HP wireless printer. and nothing in your directions includes this????

    • Nicole at Consumer Cellular says

Hi Bob, generally you’ll need to make sure the printer and your phone are both connecting to the same Wi-Fi network. If they are and it’s still not working with the above steps, your printer may have an app available in your phone’s app store to help with printing wirelessly. If you can’t find it, you can also check with your printer’s manufacturer.

  2. Anita says

Can I print photos I take with the flip phone? If so, how?

    • Nicole at Consumer Cellular says

Hi Anita, the simplest way to print photos from your phone is to connect your phone to a computer with a USB cord and transfer the photos to the computer and print from there.
