Consumer Cellular Donates $250,000 to American Red Cross

When disaster strikes, it’s comforting to know that help is available.

That’s why Consumer Cellular continues to be an active supporter of the American Red Cross. For more than 130 years, the Red Cross has been at the forefront of disaster relief both in the U.S. and internationally, standing ready to provide immediate care and comfort to anyone in need whether a home fire affects one family down the street, or a hurricane impacts millions.

In continuing our efforts to assist our communities during this time of uncertainty, we’re proud to be making a $250,000 donation to the Red Cross’s Annual Disaster Responders Program. This marks the second year in a row that Consumer Cellular has participated in this program, having donated $350,000 last August to commemorate reaching our 3.5 millionth customer.

In the U.S., the Red Cross responds to more than 60,000 disasters of all sizes each year, providing safe shelter, hot meals, emotional support and resources to aid in recovery. Our contributions to the Annual Disaster Responder Program allow the Red Cross to maintain strong infrastructure, trained volunteers, innovative technology and critical resources necessary to deliver immediate relief and support to those in need. We urge you to also support the Red Cross’s efforts in any way you can, large or small. You can make financial contributions in any amount here. Another important step you can take is to donate blood at one of its many centers across the country. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused unprecedented challenges to the U.S. blood supply, with donor centers experiencing a dramatic reduction in donations due to the implementation of social distancing and the cancellation of many blood drives. Visit here to learn more about how you can help—it’s safe and easy to do, and will have a positive impact on countless lives.
