This past Sunday, September 12, was Grandparents Day. This holiday was created more than 30 years ago to honor grandparents. To celebrate and recognize Grandparents Day, and to honor our customers, many of whom are Grandparents, we launched the first annual “Grandparent of the Year” contest this summer.
We received more than 450 heartwarming entries that offer glimpses into the remarkable relationship between grandparent and grandchild. Last Friday the five contest finalists were selected based on the most public votes received. To view those finalists’ contest entries visit: Grandparents Day Gallery. Grand, second and third prize winners will be announced by Consumer Cellular on October 2, during the AARP Orlando@50+ Convention in Orlando, Florida.
