How to Switch to Consumer Cellular (it’s easy)

Before You Switch:  

  • Don’t cancel your current service yet! Your number must stay active during the transfer. Once the switch is complete, your old account will close automatically. 
  • Gather your account number and PIN from your current carrier. We’ve got the info below on how to do that—most carriers offer self-service options online or in their app. 

How to Switch From AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon 

It’s easy to switch and takes just about 20 minutes! Here are instructions for transferring from AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon. If your carrier isn’t listed or you need help, call our 100% U.S. based Switch Pros at (888)-345-5509 and they’ll be glad to help you. 

AT&T  

To get your transfer PIN: 

Dial *PORT (*7678) or visit https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/KM1447526/.  

Note: Transfer PIN is valid for all numbers on the account & expires in 4 days  

Your 12-digit account number is on the top right of your bill or in the MyAT&T app. 

T-Mobile 

To get your transfer PIN: 

Visit https://www.t-mobile.com/support/account/transfer-your-phone-number#pin.  

Note: Transfer PIN is valid for all numbers on the account & expires in 7 days  

Your 9 or 15 digit account number is in your T-Mobile app or online account. 

Verizon 

To get your transfer PIN: 

Dial #PORT (#7678) or visit https://www.verizon.com/support/port-out-faqs/.  

Note: Transfer PIN expires in 7 days  

Your account number is in your Verizon app or online account. 

Helpful Tips 

  • PINs expire. Most carrier PINs are only valid for a few days. Request yours close to when you are ready to complete your switch.  
  • Make sure your account information is accurate. Small differences in your name, address or account number can cause a port to be rejected. Make sure to check your wireless bill or online account to verify the exact details on file before you switch. 
  • eSIM customers: If you’re using an eSIM and switching devices at the same time, let your Switch Pro know—there are a few extra steps to make sure everything transfers smoothly.  
  • If your port takes longer than expected, don’t cancel your old service. Contact our Switch Pros at 888-345-5509 and we will check on the status for you.
