As many of you know, we partnered last June with the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) and agreed to donate to their worthy cause every time one of our <\/span>cell phone plan<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/a> \"\"customers signed up for our email billing option. I\u2019m particularly proud of our commitment. The NPCA strives daily to ensure our national parks\u2014394 distinct sites covering more than 83 million acres\u2014get the care and support needed. From the Grand Canyon to Gettysburg, these parks are America\u2019s legacy to the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now I\u2019d like to tell you about another way you can help our national parks. Until October 31, 2011, Consumer Cellular is sponsoring a <\/span>Facebook<\/span><\/span><\/a> fund-raising campaign called “<\/span>Support the National Parks<\/span><\/span><\/a>.” <\/span><\/p>\n

Joining the campaign is easy and<\/span> free. Just click on the above “Support” link and choose either the join\u2014remember it\u2019s free to join\u2014or donate option. <\/span><\/p>\n

Every time someone joins, we\u2019ll donate fifty cents. And when someone makes a donation, we\u2019ll match it twice<\/em>. Put another way, for every dollar donated to the NPCA, we\u2019ll double the amount, turning that single dollar into three dollars! <\/span><\/p>\n

It may sound like a clich\u00e9, but I believe helping our national parks is one of those “Now more than ever” moments in America\u2019s history. Today, government spending is under very close scrutiny and budgets are tighter than ever. Our parks and monuments truly need your help. <\/span><\/p>\n

I encourage you to join our NPCA campaign before the end of October, and ask you to send the <\/span>Facebook link<\/span><\/span><\/a> to family and friends so they may join or donate as well. <\/span><\/p>\n
