It\u2019s easier than you think. If you\u2019ve ever wondered how to do a three-way call using your mobile device, here\u2019s what you\u2019ll need to know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A three-way call, or conference call, is when three or more people are in a phone conversation simultaneously. Most mobile devices allow up to five or six conference call participants at a time. Since you\u2019ll be hosting multiple parties on your call, be sure to take these important steps first, to avoid any interruptions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Make sure your phone is fully charged beforehand. <\/strong>If possible, have a charger and outlet nearby just in case.<strong><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Turn off your ringers. <\/strong>Be sure to cut out any unnecessary distractions by switching your phone and laptop to silent before your call.<strong><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Avoid using speakerphone. <\/strong>Though it allows you to be more hands-free, it sacrifices sound quality. Try using a headset instead, unless you\u2019re sharing a phone line with another person.<strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>With those items out of the way, here\u2019s how to make a group phone call using either an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.consumercellular.com\/shopping\/choose\/device?filters=Android\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Android smartphone<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.consumercellular.com\/shopping\/choose\/device?filters=Apple\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">iPhone<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To create a conference call using iPhone:<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Make a call.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press \u201cAdd Call,\u201d and select the second recipient. The first recipient will be placed on hold while you connect.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press \u201cMerge Calls\u201d to connect both lines together.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Repeat steps two and three to add more participants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you wish to disconnect one of the parties from the call, simply press \u201cConference\u201d and then tap the red circle with the phone graphic next to the number. You can then press \u201cEnd Call\u201d to disconnect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also conduct private conversations with individuals during a conference call by pressing \u201cConference,\u201d and then \u201cPrivate\u201d next to the number you\u2019d like to go one-on-one with. When you\u2019re ready to rejoin the other parties, press \u201cMerge Calls\u201d and you\u2019ll be a part of the conference once more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Conference calling on an Android phone:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Conducting a cellphone conference call on an Android is very similar to an iPhone. The major difference is the terminology and icons. Simply follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Make a call.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After connecting, press the \u201cAdd Call\u201d icon. The graphic features a person with a \u201c+\u201d next to it. Once the icon is pressed, the first recipient will be placed on hold.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dial the second party, and wait for them to answer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press the \u201cMerge\u201d icon. This will appear as two arrows merging into one. Once you tap this, the calls will join, and the screen will say \u201cConference Call.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Similar to the iPhone, you can press \u201cManage\u201d to mute or disconnect a party from the conference call.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Want to get the whole gang together on your cellphone?
