In a recent post<\/strong><\/a>, I highlighted some terrific accessibility features for Android smartphone users. There are also some wonderful accessibility features right in your iPhone Settings app that you should be aware of, as well. They offer real convenience for users prefer a larger font, or a screen that\u2019s easier to read, and are especially helpful for those who may have difficulty with vision or hearing issues.<\/p>\n

To start, you\u2019ll find all of these by going to Settings, tapping General, and then Accessibility. Once there, you can select any of the options below to customize your user experience.<\/p>\n

Dark Mode<\/strong>: This feature lets you increase the contrast on your iPhone display by making the phone\u2019s background colors darker. From the Accessibility menu, tap Display Accommodations, then tap next to Invert Colors to choose either a Smart Invert option to selectively reverse colors, or Classic Invert, which inverts all colors on the display.<\/p>\n

Larger Print<\/strong>: If you\u2019ve ever had difficulty reading the text on your phone\u2019s display, this handy feature will help. From Accessibility, tap Larger Text. You can select a customized size to enlarge (or even reduce) the general font size of your text. You can also tap Larger Dynamic Type to make the text larger across many different apps, and even make it bolder to increase its legibility.<\/p>\n

Voice Over: <\/strong>This feature serves as a screen reader, and will say aloud any text under your finger, making it ideal for reading text or email messages. To enable it, tap Voice Over from the Accessibility menu, then slide the switch to the ON position to get started.<\/p>\n

Each of these settings will help enhance your iPhone to make it even more user-friendly. The great thing is, this is just scratching the surface! Be sure to explore the many other great options in the Accessibility menu to help transform your phone into a fully customized tool.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
