This setting captures the moments just before and after you take a&nbsp;picture, complete with movement and sound, and blends them all together to create a seamless animation running about 1.5 seconds. It\u2019s a neat way to enhance an image\u2014rather than just getting a shot of your dog, for instance, you can also capture the actual wagging of his tail. Or, maybe create a memorable scene that includes your grandson or granddaughter waving, rather than just taking a still picture of them. The possibilities are as unlimited as your imagination!<\/p>\n<p>This feature is found on each of the latest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.consumercellular.com\/iPhone\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">iPhone<\/a> models, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>iPhone SE<\/li>\n<li>iPhone 6s<\/li>\n<li>iPhone 6s Plus<\/li>\n<li>iPhone 7<\/li>\n<li>iPhone 7 Plus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It\u2019s easy to activate and use. Once you\u2019ve opened the camera app, just tap the \u201cLive Photo\u201d button at the top. When it\u2019s turned on, the button will turn yellow. The process does require a subject to stay in one place for a few seconds. Once they\u2019re ready, tap the shutter. The camera will then capture a few seconds of action as well as a still image. You\u2019ll notice a \u201clive\u201d icon appearing on the screen as the image is being collected. You can see the finished product by selecting it from your camera roll, then tapping and holding it to view the animation.<\/p>\n<p>With their unique flair, it\u2019s fun to share Live Photos through text messages or on social media. Just be sure to tap the \u201cLive\u201d icon at bottom right when you upload it, or only the still photo will be used. You can also set a Live Photo as your iPhone\u2019s wallpaper.<\/p>\n<p>The file size of a Live Photo is almost double that of regular image, so they will consume additional memory on your iPhone. If you\u2019re not doing so already, it\u2019s a great idea to start saving photos to your iCloud to save space! Also, if you leave the feature enabled, it uses a lot of battery life, so consider both of these things before you decide to make every photo a \u201cLive\u201d one!<\/p>\n<p>But for those times when you want to add a truly special touch to your photos, or even if you\u2019re just feeling a little \u201cartsy,\u201d consider giving Live Photos a try.
