I can always use a good vacation, especially this time of year. It\u2019s when I get to spend the most quality time with my family or visit my closest friends. Like anything, it takes some patience to plan my trips, so I can pack in the most fun. I used to depend on travel agents for everything, but now I rely on just a couple apps on my phone. I must tell you about two fabulous ones I\u2019ve discovered.<\/p>\n

Duolingo –<\/strong> Available for iPhone<\/a> and Android<\/a><\/p>\n

\"Duolingo\"<\/a>Before I leave the U.S., I give Duolingo for Android and iPhone a workout. It\u2019s by far the easiest new way I know to learn a new language. I find it very encouraging, too. It prepares me as no other travel app can. Bite-sized, step-by-step interactive lessons teach me to read, write, listen and speak my new languages. It\u2019s actually really fun, too.<\/p>\n

Duolingo lessons always begin with the basics. Then, you\u2019re quizzed before you progress to the next topic or level. Before you know it, you\u2019ll be listening to, reading and speaking Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Irish, Danish, Swedish or perfecting your English.<\/p>\n

You get rewarded with points and can also compete with friends and see their results on the leaderboard. Use it for a few minutes or a few hours, whichever works best. Duolingo\u2019s gaining quite a fan list, too. I heard that it\u2019s also being used in thousands of classrooms now.<\/p>\n

You know the best thing about Duolingo though? It keeps me entertained when I\u2019m stuck in line at the grocery store! Gratzi, Duolingo!!<\/p>\n

Postagram <\/strong>– Available for iPhone<\/a> and Android<\/a><\/p>\n

\"Postagram\"<\/a>Before my trips are even over, I use a fun, convenient app called Postagram. It\u2019s a radically better option to buying, writing and mailing postcards. What a pain it was to remember to buy stamps and find a post office when traveling. Well, no more of that. Postagram prints my own images on thick postcards at a sharp resolution, then instantly mails them \u2014 all from the app!<\/p>\n

Rather than searching for the best postcard on your trip, with Postagram I get to send a custom one of my own. Just open the app, choose a picture, write a custom message and it sends the postcard anywhere in the U.S. for only $0.99. I like being able to snap a shot within the app. Or, I can choose a photo from my phone’s gallery or straight from Facebook<\/a>. Beat that!<\/p>\n

And, no more wasted time handwriting each and every postcard either with Postagram. That\u2019s valuable time away from all the attractions at your destination!<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve sent a few Postagrams to myself as keepsakes, too, and don\u2019t worry the images are definitely high quality.
