Whether it\u2019s dinner with friends, your latest do-it-yourself project or a fun selfie, cellphones make capturing life\u2019s special moments quick and easy. With just a few taps, you can save, share or revisit cherished memories. But photos can add up quickly, taking up valuable space on your phone. Here are a few simple tips that allow you to transfer the photos to a safe place:<\/p>\n

Transfer to a storage device<\/strong><\/p>\n

By connecting a USB cable from your phone to a computer, you can quickly transfer your phone\u2019s photos to the computer\u2019s hard drive or to a USB flash drive. Transferring your photos not only frees up space on your phone, but also ensures they\u2019re stored in a separate, safe location \u2014 just in case your phone is ever damaged or misplaced.<\/p>\n

Upload to the cloud<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are several free cloud storage options (iCloud<\/a>, Google Drive<\/a>, Dropbox<\/a> and Shutterfly<\/a> are just a few) that allow you to upload and store your photos. These password-protected sites keep your images secure and make it easy to share your photos with friends and family via email or by uploading to Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites. Plus, you can access your photos from other devices like your computer or tablet. Smartphone users can download an app to transfer photos directly from their phones, but anyone can use the storage options from a computer or tablet.<\/p>\n

Print and enjoy<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rather than keeping all of your photos where no one can see them, you can print them out or create photo books. There are several websites that let you upload photos and create customized books for gifts or for simply enjoying whenever you need a smile. Another option is to load the photos on a USB flash drive and take them to a drugstore or other chain store, where you can use the store\u2019s photo kiosk to select and print your photos. For users with smartphones, several of these stores have mobile apps, which can be used to upload and order your prints before you run to the store.<\/p>\n

Now you can start transferring, uploading or printing your photos to share with others while knowing they\u2019re stored in a safe, easily accessible location. Plus, you\u2019ll have more space on your phone for capturing new memories.<\/p>\n
