Refer a Friend and Earn $20

Do you ever find yourself catching a movie that is so good you can’t wait to tell friends about it? Or dining at a mostly undiscovered gem of a restaurant and taking friends there for an amazing meal? Sharing good news or great things is one of the pleasures of friendship.

And now from June 1st to July 15th, when you refer a friend and that friend becomes a customer, we’re going to double our referral reward—for both of you. In other words, you will each receive $20 off your next invoice – instead of $10 – for all referrals that occur within this time period. This bonus will be applied to your next invoice, as well as your referred friend’s invoice.Refer a friend

Here’s some good news to share with your friends about us. PC Magazine recently awarded Consumer Cellular their annual Readers’ Choice Award, calling us the “Best of the Best.” This means when you refer your friends to Consumer Cellular, you’re referring them to the best cell phone service provider in America.

And here are some great things to share about being a Consumer Cellular customer:

With cell phone plans as low as $10 a month and no contracts to sign, we make it affordable for people in all walks of life to stay in touch.

And by keeping our contact centers in the United States, we make it easy for our customers to seek answers to their questions.

You can change your cell phone plan—increase or decrease minutes, for instance—at any time without penalty, even from the road.

We think you know your usage needs better than we do, so we like to make sure you’re always in control. To assist you, we oversee your usage and notify you via our automated Usage Alerts program when you are approaching your plan’s limits. We even recommend your next steps, thus helping you to avoid unnecessary overage fees. And you can modify your account yourself online or with our smartphone App.

Do yourself and your friends a favor this summer. Take us up on our special, limited-time offer and earn twice the referral reward. No strings attached, just a credit on your next invoice if they become a customer. To find out more, please check out our Referral Rewards program.

  2. Cassie Montgomery says

I have been with consumer cellular for over four years. I called yesterday about a questions on my bill. The woman asked me the last four numbers of my social security number. I said you do not need that information. She looked up my account and answered my question. She was helpful but at the end of the call she started in on her marketing spleel about I if refer someone I will get credited. I did not call consumer cellular to hear about a marketing ploy nor do I care. Get it together consumer cellular and have your representatives trained to do their job not see crap marketing to existing customers. I am not impressed.

Thank you for the comment, Cassie. I’ll be happy to pass your feedback on to our management team. We appreciate you taking the time to comment.

    • Don Gerlitz says

Cassie, it might have been more appropriate for the customer service rep to ask if you had a friend that might be considering changing their wireless carrier. If no, then no need for further marketing.
I have been thinking of changing to a different provider for some time, and have only just become aware of Consumer Cellular (through a relative that uses CC). I appreciate that they were willing to give me information about Consumer Cellular. I am finishing my information gathering/review and believe I will begin service with Consumer Cellular shortly.
The $20 referral credit is just a bonus to me and to my relative. The real value to me is to switch to a very highly regarding provider. – Blessings

I love opportunities to save money. I also like being told about those opportunities. I don’t always go online to check them out, therefore, if I have a need to call about something, I appreciate being informed about ways to save money. Thank you, Consumer Cellular!

I’m don”t think I will be referring a friend. I left AT&T because I was not satisfied with their service. I travel extensively and whenever I was away I had a problem with dropped calls and sometimes I could not make calls in the area where I was staying. I also had problems when I was at home with dropped calls. They tried to force me into another contract when my contract was up with them and they would not repair my phone even though I was still under their insurance.

I now seem to be having similar problems with Consumer Cellular. When I am away from home in certain areas I get dropped calls and sometimes cannot make or receive calls. When I am texting, I may be spelling the word Middle or Place and my phone will change the spelling to Midd(e or PlaSe). I have to go back and change the ( to the l or the S to the c. When I call and talk to a representative they tell me to take my battery out for a few minutes and then place it back in. Doing that works, but I don’t feel like I should have to do this every time I’m away or home or replace letters in words that I spell right because the phone changes the spelling of the word and it is spelled wrong.

Because of these issues I do not want my friends and family to have to go through the same things if I refer them to this company.

Hey, Shirley, just a bit of a heads up, from what you are describing about your texting prob it seems like you might want to investigate and learn the various settings on your phone more intensively. Until you then learn to use your phone properly. As to dropped calls and lack of coverage, well from what I have seen and experienced personally that is just part of the deal with cell phones in general. Although the dropped calls could very well be a gremlin in your particular phone. Have fun.

  5. Rod says

Do you anticipate any new/different phones in the near future?

    • Ashley at Consumer Cellular says

Great question, Rod! We are constantly trying to update our phone lineup and bring more device options to our customers. Keep an eye on our blog for new phones, and you can always view our lineup at our Phones page here. Thank you for commenting!

  6. Steve says

Shirley, Consumer Cellular operates on the AT&T network. If you were dissatisfied with AT&T signal why did you move to one of its MVNOs?

  7. Andrea says

Hi, I just signed up and am excited to pay lower bills. A question..I did not get the texting option because I only do less than 10 texts per month. How much is each text when you do not have the texting plan? Thanks!

    • Ashley at Consumer Cellular says

Thanks for the comment, Andrea. We’re glad to hear you’ve had a great experience so far. Any text outside of a Connect! messaging plan is 10 cents, whether you send or receive it. Thanks again!

  8. Wendy says

Are there any $20 referral offers going now in July of 2018?

    • Ashley at Consumer Cellular says

Thanks for asking, Wendy. At this time, we aren’t featuring any referral promotions, but you will receive a $10 credit if you refer a friend, or if a friend refers you to our service. It’s our way of saying “thanks” for telling others how much you love our service! If we can answer any questions about this credit or our service, please don’t hesitate to give us a call at 888-345-5509. We appreciate you posting, and we hope you have a great day!

  10. Chuck S. says

I just got my stepson to drop Verizon and go with consumer cellular and thought that we would both receive a 10 dollar discount on our respective bills. Lo and behold, that wasn’t the case. If you live in the same house, the referral discount doesn’t apply. Seriously!! No where in your referral guidelines is this mentioned. I think you should include this exception in your disclaimer concerning referrals.

    • Ashley at Consumer Cellular says

We appreciate your feedback, Chuck, and we apologize for any confusion. If you like, we can discuss this with you at 888-345-5509. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us, and we hope to speak with you soon.
