Meet Connect! Consumer Cellular’s New Data and Messaging Plans

Consumer Cellular is all about making wireless access simple and affordable, regardless of services offered, from messaging to voice to data. And with the increased interest in messaging and Internet access through our cellular devices, we now have four inexpensive and convenient data plans for Consumer Cellular customers – all without long-term contracts.

Through our new Connect! messaging and data offerings, customers can now select one of four plan options that best meet their needs:

  • Connect! Lite: 100 messages and 2 MB of data for $2.50 per month
  • Connect! Ready: 500 messages and 15 MB of data for $5.00 per month
  • Connect! Active: 1,000 messages and 30 MB of data for $10.00 per month
  • Connect! Complete: 2,000 messages and 75 MB of data for $20.00 per month

For customers on family plans there is no additional cost to share a Connect! plan. It remains $10 per month to add a line to an account, no matter which services are included. Current customers with messaging packages will receive Internet access that corresponds to their respective plan, at no additional cost.

    Can I add my iPad to my data plan and if so how?? Thanks

      Thank you for asking, Pat! We don’t currently offer data plans for tablets, but we’ve had customers use their phone’s SIM card with their iPad successfully. We do caution that using a SIM card with a tablet device such as yours can result in high data usage and surprise overages. We recommend using Wi-Fi whenever possible to conserve the data on your plan. If we should offer any tablet plans in the future, we will be sure to let our customers know via our blog and social media channels. Thank you for reaching out to us!

    Why does metro PCs and Walmart cell phones offer
    Unlimited data planes with
    4gb of 4lite and your planes
    Don’t. You are loosing a lot of customer’s that way.

      Thank you for taking the time to comment, Paul. We find that our customers enjoy having plans that they have control over, instead of paying for data or usage that they may not need. With our plans, you can change as often as you like to reflect your usage needs from month to month. While we feel our plans are competitive, we know that we may not be the best fit for everyone.     How come my phone doesn’t use my data plan?

      Thank you for asking, Lenoir. I was able to take a look at your account, and I see that you are using one of our SIM cards. I was able to verify your data plan and sync your services with your phone, so please turn it off, then turn it back on again. If the issue persists, we may need to adjust the data settings on your device over the phone and get this resolved for you.     I am having trouble understanding data usage. I use my cell phone for some games and checking my emails. Occasionally I use it for Facebook. Since I am usually using it at home, I thought I was using my wi-fi connection. That is what I intend to do. However I keep getting messages about my data usage and having to increase it. Please help me understand what data charges consist of. Thank you.

      We’re happy to help you with that, Joanne. First, please make sure your Wi-Fi is on and connected to your home network. If you are connected to Wi-Fi, you shouldn’t use any data from your plan when checking email or playing games. I took a look at your account and see that you’re using our SIM card with your own phone. We can help you find your data settings and make some adjustments if you like.     Why am I being charged for data at 6AM and at 12AM ? My phone is off at these times. Thanks Stan

      We’re happy to clear that up, Stan. Your usage is reported to us from the cellular towers a few times a day, often at 6:00am and 12:00am. These times don’t necessarily correlate to when you were using your phone. It’s a common question, so we appreciate you taking the time to ask us about it.
