Just Relax With These Calming Apps

Your smartphone tirelessly delivers the latest news, social media updates, email, and text messages 24/7. But as always with this wonderful technology, there’s a flip-side that also lets you enjoy peace and quiet. I’ve found some wonderful apps that are actually designed to help you step away from the daily hustle-and-bustle, and provide tools for rest and relaxation. Plus, each of the apps discussed here are free, and will work with either iPhone or Android smartphones.

I’ve started using the daily programs on Calm to help me relax anytime I need to. It offers soothing sleep stories for you to listen to before bed, as well as gentle sounds from nature, simple breathing exercises, and other ways to gently clear your mind. If you’ve had a stressful day, or struggle to turn off your brain at bedtime, this app features wonderful tools to help you unwind.

You’ll find similar tools using Happify, which includes science-based activities and games designed to boost your mood. You’ll choose a personal “happiness” track, then complete and track your progress. There are quizzes, games, and activities that guide you to more positive aspects of life, and can boost your mood and spirit.

Getting a good night’s sleep is all about good habits and optimizing your night time environment. With the Sleep Better Tracker app, you’ll be able to monitor your sleep cycles and their duration to get a better understanding of what you really need to wake up refreshed each day. It helps you analyze personal and environmental factors affecting your nightly comfort, and lets you develop a personalized alarm clock which will gently wake you at the ideal time based on what your body really needs.

Sometimes, the best way to relax is just by having fun. Colorfy builds on the popular trend of coloring books for adults, giving you a convenient way to lose yourself in a few minutes of creativity whenever you find the time. Simply choose a design and “color” as you see fit. You can even share your art on social media.

Try one (or all) of these relaxation apps to bring some well-deserved peace of mind to your busy day. Turn your smartphone into a calming friend–just by trying a few new apps!

I have a Moto G4 Play…and it will not pick up Wi-fi or let me unblock contact

    • Ashley at Consumer Cellular says

Thank you for posting, MK. First, we recommend checking that your home Wi-Fi is transmitting a strong signal, and that your phone is using the correct password to access it. If that doesn’t work, we can do some additional troubleshooting to resolve the issue. As for unblocking a contact, you’ll want to open the contact, then tap the Edit icon in the top right corner. Select the Menu, then uncheck the box to send all calls to voicemail. We’re happy to assist you over the phone if needed, so please don’t hesitate to call us at 888-345-5509. We appreciate you reaching out to us, and we hope you have a wonderful day!

Thanks for reaching out to us, Judy! It sounds like we may need to update some settings on your device so that you can send and receive photos. Please give us a call at 888-345-5509, and we will be happy to assist you with that. We appreciate you posting, and we look forward to speaking with you!

No voicemail is set up on my galaxy 6s edge. Please advise.

    • Ashley at Consumer Cellular says

Thank you for asking, Teresa! To set up your voicemail, just press and hold the “1” key on your phone. That should take you into the voicemail system, and from there, you can just follow the prompts. We even have a video that will walk you through the process here. If that method doesn’t work, we may need to reset the voicemail number stored in your phone. Just give us a call at 888-345-5509, and we will be happy to assist you with that and any other questions you may have. Thanks for posting, and we hope you have a great day!
