To Customers Affected By Hurricane Harvey

All of us at Consumer Cellular are deeply concerned for everyone who has been impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

We’re providing what support we can by issuing an invoice credit toward the cost of seven days of cellular service to help all customers with billing zip codes in the areas listed below, plus we’ll continue to assess the impact on additional locations in the days and weeks ahead.

Texas—Aransas, Austin, Bee, Calhoun, Chambers, Colorado, Brazoria, DeWitt, Fayette, Fort Bend, Galveston, Goliad, Gonzales, Harris, Jackson, Jefferson, Jim Wells, Karnes, Kleberg, Lavaca, Liberty, Live Oak, Matagorda, Nueces, Refugio, San Patricio, Victoria, Wailer, Wharton, and Wilson counties.

Louisiana—Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson Davis and Vermilion parishes.

In addition, charitable giving committees at each Consumer Cellular location have allocated their 2017 fourth quarter donations, a total of $24,000, to the American Red Cross to assist its efforts to provide relief to those displaced by the storm. We truly admire the hard work this amazing organization does.

Know that our thoughts and sincere best wishes are with all of you in the path of this dangerous storm. Please, stay safe, and stay strong!

You guys are amazing, in so many ways. I love the service & the truly kind & knowledgable people I have had the pleasure of speaking to whenever I have a question. The donation to help others & the credit on my bill is so appreciated at this time. I can’t imagine how i could have handled this storm and the unending needs that continue to arise as my husband & I undertake the monumental task of assisting our son, his wife, & our 3 grandchildren to basically tear apart everything we had spent years helping them to fix up their little home. I know we are not alone, as there are an unbelievable number of people going through this very same story. Apology for the lengthy comment…its been another long day. I’m pretty tired & it’s going to take us a while just to clean up the mess. But we have our health & I know we will continue to take one day at a time to do the best we can….just like Consumer Cellular. Thank you sincerely.

  16. Mike L. says

    Hi CC,

On behalf of those in Harvey’s path I thank you for your generosity. That is really a classy move.

As a customer here in Florida I’m in a very similar situation with IRMA, I can tell you guys how incredibly dependent we are all on our cellular service during this scary and stressful time. Right now my cell phone is my only link to civilization. While having access to telephone service is critical. What I’ve been unable to do without is access to wireless Internet. Without it I would be unable to get access to nearly any information. My cell phone is currently my lifeline to the news and government announcements, NOAA NHC (hurricane center) advisories and predictions, and all other information like weather, utility company updates (power, water etc), and so much more. Without this access I would be literally sitting here in the dark. So Thank you.

However, I am very concerned what is going to happen when I hit my 5Gb monthly limit and you guys reduce my speeds to what has been historically an unusable level. Will I be cut off from these essential services? I’m hoping not.

I’m hopeful because I’ve seen announcements from nearly every other wireless provider (big and small: at&t, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, etc) that they are opening up their networks and providing their customers in Florida access to unlimited data in the short-term at no charge. I hope and pray you guys realize how important access to Internet is for us during this critical time.

    Thanks
