Can I access the Internet from my cell phone?

Consumer Cellular offers Internet access through our Connect! service, which allows you to browse news, sports, weather, updates, and more. You can also use this service to purchase and download ringtones, wallpapers, and games. For web enabled phones only. (Note: not all phones are web capable).

How do I add Internet access to my phone?

To add Internet access to your phone through our Connect! service:

1. Log in to My Account.
2. Click “Change Services” in the box on the right.
3. Select the Connect! plan that best fits your needs.
4. Select “Messaging” and “Data (Web)” for the different phones on your plan. You can decide which phones receive each service. Turning off one of the services for a selected phone, or for all phones, does not affect the price of the plan.
5. Click “Submit.”

How do I access the Internet from my cell phone?

Select the globe icon on your phone. Select “CCI Data.” Select a topic.	Press the globe button on the keypad (top left). Select a topic.

Helpful Hints

• It takes a moment or two to launch web pages with Wireless Web. Watch the status bar and wait for the page to finish loading before pressing any buttons. (Some phones have a revolving globe instead of a status bar.)
• Wireless Web does not include email or open browsing to specific sites at this time.
• Wireless Web allows you to browse these sites set up through the Consumer Cellular system. Sites outside this system are not accessible with your phone.
  • Ringtones and More: Purchase and download ringtones, wallpaper and games for your phone.
  • News: Browse headlines from various news sources.
  • Weather: Check the weather at any location by entering a zip code.
  • Sports: Check the latest scores and headlines.
  • Money: Check stock prices and other financial news.
  • Entertainment: Get the latest news on movies, TV, music and more.

How do I use Usage Alerts to manage my usage?

You can eliminate the worry and surprise of big cell phone bills due to overages. Just set up Usage Alerts to inform you when your usage approaches your plan’s minutes. Then you can decide if you need to upgrade your plan or reduce your usage. It’s easy to set up and it’s completely free.

1. Log in to My Account
2. Click “Manage Usage Alerts Settings.”
3. Choose your alert type(s):
   • Email
   • Text message
4. Choose when you want to be alerted:
   • 75% of your included minutes, text messages or wireless web usage.
   • 100%
   • 125%
   • 150%
5. Click “Save Changes.”

That’s all there is to it. The alerts are free—we won’t even charge you for the text messages. Not only that, unlike other cell phone companies, we let you change your plan retroactively to the start of your current bill period so you can get the best possible pricing.

How do I get free ringtones for my phone?

If you have Consumer Cellular wireless web service enabled, you can browse to just about any web site. There are a number of sites that offer free ringtones. Just be careful—some sites want you to sign up for a service to get free ringtones.

You can also purchase ringtones, wallpapers and games directly from your Consumer Cellular account. Just log in to My Account and click “Content Store” in the Purchase Content section on the right. If you need additional assistance, please give us a call at 1-888-345-5509.
