How do I make a call?

To make a call:

1. Power your phone on (press the red key above the 3).
2. Wait for "My Network" to show on the display.
3. Dial the number (including the area code).
4. Press the green key above the 1.
   Keep in mind that there is no dial tone with cell phone service.

How do I charge my phone's battery?

To charge the battery, plug the home or car charger cord into the phone, and plug the charger into an outlet. You can charge the phone any time—while it is turned on or off, or even while you are using it. It takes about 4-5 hours to fully charge the battery.

How do I lock and unlock the keypad?

Every phone is different—for specific instructions on locking and unlocking the keypad, download your phone’s manual from the Phone Manuals page.

In general, to set your phone so it automatically locks the keypad after 30 seconds of non-use:

1. Press the Menu key.
2. Select “Settings.”
3. Select “Phone” or “Phone settings” (check your manual for specifics).
4. Select “Key guard setting” or “Automatic keyguard.”
5. Select “On” to turn on the automatic keyguard.
6. Enter the amount of time for the delay. Thirty seconds is most common.
7. Press “OK.”

To unlock the keypad:

1. Press “Unlock” (check your manual for specifics).
2. Immediately press * (star). You need to press the keys fairly quickly to unlock the keypad.

What is the PIN for the phone, and should I lock the phone?

The PIN is a security feature built into the phone by the manufacturer. It is used to lock the phone when it is first turned on. We do not recommend locking the phone. How do I restore the factory settings?

These are the general instructions for restoring the factory settings:

1. Press the Menu key from your main screen.
2. Select “Settings.”
3. Select “Restore settings” or “Restore factory settings” (check your manual for specifics).
4. The screen will ask for a security code. Type in 12345 and press “OK.”
5. The screen will display “Reset settings.” Press “OK” (check your manual for specifics).
6. To go back to the main screen, press the red key once (the red key is located above the 3).

How do I use the Doro Emergency Call feature?

Both the Doro PhoneEasy 345 and the Doro PhoneEasy 410 come with an emergency “SOS” button on the back of the phone. This feature is designed to make it easy for you to alert family and friends when you need help. Think of it as a form of speed dial.

WARNING: The DORO PhoneEasy “SOS” button does not replace the emergency 911 system. If you are in an emergency, always call 911 first.

When would you use this PhoneEasy SOS feature? You might want to contact a relative or friend if you fall down, get lost, need medication, or have an accident.

The SOS function works differently on each phone. You can specify up to 5 emergency numbers on the PhoneEasy 345. The PhoneEasy 345 also lets you add a text message. When you press the emergency button on the 345, the phone will make a loud beep. The phone automatically dials the first number on your emergency call list. If no one answers within 30 seconds, the PhoneEasy 345 will dial the next number on your emergency call list until a contact is made. Now, this is where it gets tricky; the phone will stop trying if it reaches an answering machine, assuming it has contacted someone. So be very careful which numbers you put on your list.

The PhoneEasy 410 emergency call feature is simpler. It lets you identify only 1 emergency number, offers no texting and emits a single soft beep. It's more of a one-time notification system. When you press the SOS button on the PhoneEasy 410 the beep tells you the emergency call has been sent.

Activate the Emergency Call function.

1. Select Menu by pressing the left soft key (white line).
2. Scroll up or down until you reach Settings and press OK.
3. Scroll down and select Emergency and press OK.
4. You have several choices. Select Function on/off (345) or Activation (410) and press OK.
5. Scroll down and select On Normal to enable your Emergency call list and press OK.

Create your List of Emergency Numbers

Your Numbers List is the list of numbers that will be called when you have an Emergency and you press the SOS button. Your phone will send your SOS emergency text messages to all the numbers in your Emergency numbers call list.

1. Press Menu, scroll to Settings and press OK.
2. Scroll through the list and select Emergency and press OK.
3. Scroll down and select Numbers list and press OK.
4. Press Add to add the emergency contact number. You have a few options, depending on your phone:
   • PhoneEasy410: Select Phonebook and add a contact from the phonebook.
   • PhoneEasy 410: Press Manual and the down arrow key. Then enter the phone number and press Save.
   • PhoneEasy 345: Select Name and then Edit (press the right soft key).
     1. Use the keypad to type in the name of the person or organization you wish to be called.
     2. Use the down arrow to move to the Mobile field and type in the phone number. When done, press Save.
     3. Select or enter the number and press Save.

Create your Emergency Message

1. Press Menu, scroll to Settings and press OK.
2. Select Emergency and press OK.
3. Select Message and press OK.
4. Press Edit. Use the keypad to create the message and press OK to Save.

Make an Emergency Call

1. Press and hold the Emergency Call button on the back of the phone for 3 seconds (or press it three times within 1 second).
2. Your phone will dial the first number on the list.
3. If the call isn't answered within 30 seconds, the next number is dialed.
4. Dialing is repeated 3 times or until either the call is answered or the Call End button is pressed (the red phone icon).

Tips on Emergency Calls

• Be very careful about including numbers with automatic answering in your call list. The alarm sequence stops once the call is answered, even if by an answering machine.
• Also, your cell phone emergency number should never be your only emergency contact process.

My phone keeps turning off or going blank.

When not in use, your cell phone is designed to conserve battery life by dimming the display screen. This is called Standby Mode. Although the display is dark, the phone is still on and ready to use.
