How do I transfer my contacts from my old SIM card to my new SIM card?

Every phone is different—for specific instructions on transferring contacts from your old SIM, download your phone’s manual from the Phone Manuals page.

This is basically how it works: If your contacts were stored on your old phone (rather than the old SIM Card):

1. Take the SIM card out of the new phone and put it in the old phone.
2. Go to the “Phonebook” and select “Options.”
3. Select “Copy.” This will give you the option to copy all entries to the SIM card or to copy all entries to the phone.
4. Select “Copy all to SIM.”
5. Remove the SIM card and put it back into the new phone.

If your contacts were stored to the old SIM card (rather than on your old phone), you’d do the opposite:

1. Take the old SIM card and put it into the new phone.
2. Go to the “Phonebook” and select “Options.”
3. Select “Copy.” This will give you the option to copy all entries to the SIM card or to copy all entries to the phone.
4. Select “Copy all to phone.”
5. Remove the old SIM card and put the new one back into the new phone.
6. Now you can go through steps 2-4 and choose “Copy all to SIM” to store your contacts to your new SIM card.
